ACCLAIMED Pembrokeshire novelist Sophie Mackintosh \u2013 Booker-nominated author of The Water Cure \u2013 will be discussing her latest work at Fishguard\u2019s Ar Ymyl y Tir 2023 On Land\u2019s Edge Festival next month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Published by Hamish Hamilton in March, Cursed Bread \u2013 long-listed for the 2023 Women\u2019s Prize \u2013 is described as \u2018a tale of a town gripped by madness, envy like poison in the blood, and desire that burns and consumes\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The author of \u2018Blue Ticket\u2019, in addition to \u2018The Water Cure\u2019, Sophie \u2013 who was raised near Narberth \u2013 had her first novel longlisted for the Man Booker Prize 2018 and won a Betty Trask Award in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She has also won the White Review<\/em> Short Story Prize and the Virago\/Stylist Short Story Competition, and has been published in Granta, The White Review<\/em> a TANK<\/em> magazine among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Elodie is the baker’s wife.
